Enhancing Translation Competence through AI: Teaching Equivalence in Uzbek–English Contexts

Abstract

This study investigates how artificial intelligence tools can be used to enhance translation competence among learners working in Uzbek–English language contexts. The research focuses on the concept of translation equivalence and examines how AI-assisted translation platforms can support the development of this skill in educational settings. The paper evaluates the effectiveness of AI tools in helping students identify appropriate linguistic equivalents and navigate cultural differences in translation. The findings suggest that AI-assisted instruction, when integrated thoughtfully into language curricula, can significantly improve translation accuracy and learner autonomy.
